The '59 Sound is inspired by the iconic 1959 Tweed Fender Bassman, capturing the essence of this legendary amplifier in a compact pedal format.
I've never been a fan of distorted Fender amps (this is Zack speaking), except for my first amp, a blonde Fender Bassman with a 2x12 cabinet that delivered pure tinnitus-inducing joy. But the '59 Bassman surpasses that, and it’s the one that truly stands out. Jim Marshall was similarly impressed in the '60s and used it as the blueprint for his first Marshall amps. So, it’s not surprising that the ZVEX Box of Rock, known for accurately modeling the Marshall JTM45 amps, could be modded to emulate a '59 Bassman. Tommy Rehbein, our customer service specialist, took on this challenge, listened to a '59 Bassman for several days, and adjusted components in our BOR until he achieved that magical '59 Sound. Now, we’re excited to offer it to you.
