DescriptionEpic 5 (single)
The Art of TransparencyThe philosophy that drives our development process strives uncompromisingly to achieve:
|
Purely Analog
From the very beginning, our development team opted for purely analog signal routing with high-quality components. Therefore, signal transmission takes place directly and is unadulterated, and DSP compensation is rendered completely unnecessary.
Exceeding Needs
The Epic 5 highlights our obsessive nature to create products that will exceed our customer's needs. In this case, our goal was to create a reasonably priced nearfield studio monitor, with great attention to detail, carefully balanced, technically up-to-date, with no design compromises – in an aesthetically pleasing package.
We Sweat the Details
For even sound reproduction, we focused on linear signal response and its temporal and harmonic aspects. In and out swing behavior is balanced across the entire bandwidth. Equal material properties of the sound-forming components result in a homogeneous sound, in which all components perform harmoniously, avoiding the need for artificial DSP compensation.
Down to the Last Detail
As we embarked on the Epic 5 development journey, it quickly became clear that virtually no mass-produced components could be used for the implementation of such an ambitious overall concept. After four long years of development work we have developed all the individual components as well as our own manufacturing process for the Epic 5!
The Result? Amazing Sound + Design
The Epic 5 provides a harmonious home to its perfectly balanced components — tweeters, woofers, passive radiators, and amplifier electronics. It comes with a very elaborate, compact housing that's optimized for stiffness. The wavefront timing of components is mechanically aligned, so they oscillate in phase and are phase-locked in the relevant frequency range. Low noise guarantees a very high dynamic range – decaying signals, such as reverb tails or fading guitar strings won't get lost in the noise floor.
